וִיהִי־מָ֣ה אָר֔וּץ וַיֹּ֥אמֶר ל֖וֹ ר֑וּץ וַיָּ֤רָץ אֲחִימַ֙עַץ֙ דֶּ֣רֶךְ הַכִּכָּ֔ר וַֽיַּעֲבֹ֖ר אֶת־הַכּוּשִֽׁי׃
'Ma vieni che cosa posso, [disse lui,] scapperò.' E gli disse: 'Correre.' Quindi Ahimaaz corse lungo la pianura e invase il Cushite.
